Common Questions
- Do I need technical knowledge to set this up?
- Just basic DNS access at your domain registrar. If you can add a CNAME record, you can set this up. Most registrars (Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy) make it a 2-minute job.
- How long does DNS verification take?
- DNS changes can take a few minutes to 48 hours globally, though most providers update within 15–30 minutes. Once propagated, hit "Verify DNS" in your dashboard and you're live.
- What pages does the portal include?
- Three pages out of the box: a paginated ban list at the root, a player lookup at /search, and a ban appeal form at /appeal/:banId. Staff can log in at /login to manage appeals from your domain.
- Can I use a root domain instead of a subdomain?
- We recommend a subdomain (e.g. bans.yourserver.com) since root domains can't use CNAME records. Any subdomain works — bans., appeals., moderation., whatever fits.
- Which plans include custom domains?
- Custom domains are available on our premium plans. Check the pricing page for a full feature comparison.
- Can I white-label the branding completely?
- Yes. Custom title, logo, primary colour, and optionally hide the "Powered by Hytale Ban List" footer. The URL is already fully yours.
